Stepping into the Ring

Congratulations to Brighton Secondary College student Alex Ayres, who recently achieved an impressive victory in the boxing ring.

Competing at the Whitehorse Club in Burwood, Alex demonstrated courage, determination and months of hard work as he stepped into the ring in front of a strong crowd of supporters. Despite the nerves that come with competition, Alex remained focused and delivered an outstanding performance, securing victory in the second round.

The win was made even more special by the support of friends and family who attended the event, cheering from ringside throughout the night. Having his hand raised at the end of the bout was a rewarding moment for Alex, and a fitting result for the dedication and commitment shown in training.

Alex reflects on the night below.

On Saturday night I got down to the Whitehorse club in Burwood. I was feeling pretty nervous, and I had a decent crowd too, thanks for all the boys who came down to support. I got in the ring after a long wait and was ready to go, gave it my all and won in the 2nd round, come on! It felt great to have my hand raised at the end, and really was an amazing experience I won't forget.
