High Five to Victory

Buddies

We have been loving our buddies sessions with Grade 1 this term. In Week 8, 1D walked from Molesworth St to Errol St to visit 5A. 5A have been working hard on their whole class Rainforest Book, featuring information and diagrams of all the different rainforest animals. In buddy pairs and threes, we sat and read our Rainforest Book to the Grade Ones. Then,  our buddy groups got to make a rainforest animal page together! 

Swimming

This week we began our Swimming Sessions at North Melbourne Pool. It was a very cold and soggy start to the swimming week but things started to heat up as soon as we got in the pool! Our instructors were super friendly and helpful. We are looking forward to some warmer weather as the week goes on!

AFLW Visit

Last Thursday, the Year 5 cohort walked down to Arden St Oval to watch the North Melbourne Football Club’s AFLW team train in anticipation of their grand final appearance against Brisbane Lions. Students enjoyed receiving high fives from the team as they did a lap around the oval before beginning their drills and tactical work. It was fantastic to watch an undefeated team in their element and following their victory on the weekend, an absolute privilege to see a champion team put in huge amounts of effort and persistence to reach a huge goal and milestone.
