The preps have been learning all about solids, liquids & gases. We explored the different states of matter by making some raisins dance in soda water. It was lots of fun to watch the bubbles dancing in the glass. 

Grade 1

The grade 1’s have been learning all about solids, liquids and gases. This week they made Ooblek using cornflour, water and food dye. Ooblek is an unusual substance as it sometimes acts like a liquid, but it can also act like a solid. We had lots of fun exploring the properties of Ooblek.  

Grade 2

The grade 2’s have been exploring states of matter through a range of experiments using solids, liquids and gases. Our favourite experiment was using vinegar, bi-carb soda and a balloon. The gas created by the vinegar and bi-carb soda made the balloon blow up very fast. It was amazing to see!
