Year 3 News

From Lizzie, Year 3 teacher
The Courageous Campers
We are so proud of the Grade 3 students, for successfully navigating their first ever school camp! It was an absolute success, with students demonstrating the school values in a new environment. The students got to enjoy a range of challenging (and adrenaline inducing!) activities, such as the flying fox and archery. As well as initiative games, a scavenger hunt, disc golf, 9 square and gaga ball.
The students were so excited to show off their independence and courage by sleeping in cabins with their bunk mates. For many of them, it was their first time away from home and we couldn't be more impressed. The students put on brave faces despite the rain and cold weather. Luckily, we got to warm up and enjoy the delicious food, including hot chocolate for supper, while we enjoyed a well-deserved movie.
The whole cohort was celebrated at our Grade Three assembly by receiving a RISE award dedicated to each and every camper. Well done!

The end
By Francis and Lucas
Hi I’m Lucas and I’m Francis. Today we’ll tell you about Year 3 Camp. At camp we did the flying fox, archery, nine squares in the air, a scavenger hunt, disc golf and the team challenges. We took a big bus to get there with two classes on this bus and another class on the mini bus.
When we got off the bus we went to the pavilion and watched the movie Elio with the first group (we were the second camp group).
After we ate our lunch, we got into groups - one group did the team challenge and the other group did archery.
My favourite activity was archery because it was fun and I got a bull’s eye (Francis).
My favourite activity was the flying fox because it was fun and I got to feel the wind in my hair (Lucas).
The camp food was delicious, especially the schnitzel with potatoes and gravy sauce. We also all got a jelly with gummy snake for dessert and enjoy a hot chocolate for supper.
We are super excited about the next camp - the Year 4 surf camp!
