Cultural Celebration Day (Sneak Peek!)
Thank you to students and staff for their participation in our annual DHS Cultural Celebrations. It was an amazing sight to see the school awash with such vibrant colours, with students and staff proudly wearing their traditional garments.
Mr Kafrouni started off the performances at recess with a Lebanese drumming item that students and staff were thrilled with. Our Year 7 & 12 students were treated to further performances in the Theatre during period 4. Our community is fortunate to have such diversity and today allowed us to recognise and celebrate our heritage.
Here's a sneak peek of photos below. More photos to come in our next newsletter!
The 4 C's Showcase
Many months of hard work during lunchtimes and after-school culminated in the 4C’s Showcase at Bunjil Place on the first Monday night in September. The 4C’s (Cultivating Creative Cultures with Communities) allows students from different schools the opportunity to showcase, through dance and song, their pride in their cultural heritage. Our group of thirteen Polynesian students represented both their families and school with distinction.
A massive thank you and congratulations to Miss Sina for her hard work coordinating the school’s involvement, along with our dedicated musicians made up of former DHS students. The performance was beautiful, passionate and full of pride.

Free Telephone Interpreting Service for Parents and Carers to contact Dandenong High School
This FREE interpreting service is now available for Parents/Carers where they can contact an interpreter themselves before calling the school with their enquiries; instead of calling the school first and school staff then trying to call them back with an interpreter. The attached guide allows parents/carers to click on any language (i.e. Dari) and it translates this guide into the chosen language, so it is easy to read, print, email and communicate to parents/carers.
