Grevillea House – Celebrating Our Achievements

This term in Grevillea House, we have seen wonderful growth in student engagement, independence, and resilience. Across all year levels, students have been taking greater responsibility for their learning, showing initiative, and working together to strengthen our positive House culture. Improvements in uniform and attendance have been particularly pleasing, reflecting a strong sense of pride and belonging. Grevillea House continues to build an atmosphere where students support one another, rise to challenges, and celebrate achievements both big and small.

One of the most exciting initiatives this term has been the establishment of the Wednesday Games Club. Organised and led by our student SRC, the club has quickly become a lively and inclusive space at lunchtimes where students can come together, connect, and enjoy a variety of games. The Games Club has not only brought students together across different year levels but has also provided a great example of student initiative and leadership in action.

The Positive Behaviour ladder has been another highlight, giving us the chance to celebrate the efforts and values demonstrated by Grevillea students from Years 7 through to 12. It has been inspiring to see so many students recognised for their positive contributions, whether through kindness, persistence, or responsibility. The ladder stands as a daily reminder that good choices and consistent effort are valued and rewarded in our House community.

Our House displays have also continued to impress, showcasing the creativity and school spirit of Grevillea students. These displays have brought colour, pride, and energy to our House spaces, and reflect the enthusiasm of students who are eager to contribute and make their House area a welcoming environment.

The recent Subject Selection process was a resounding success. Students engaged thoughtfully with their future pathways, working closely with their House Leadership Team and parents/guardians to make informed choices. This process highlighted the growing independence and maturity of our students, many of whom showed resilience and determination as they considered their next steps.

We are also still celebrating our remarkable achievement in the Chorales Competition earlier this year. Grevillea’s performance was marked by energy, teamwork, and a clear sense of unity. It was a moment that reflected the spirit of our House – supportive, talented, and always ready to shine on the big stage.

Our SRC representatives have continued their hard work behind the scenes, focusing on the final design and selection of our House Mascot. This project has generated much excitement within our House and will give Grevillea an even stronger sense of identity as we head into future competitions and events.

None of these achievements would be possible without the dedication and passion of our teachers. A heartfelt thank you goes out to all Grevillea staff who continue to guide, support, and inspire our students on their learning journeys.

Finally, we extend our warmest wishes to our Year 12 students as they prepare for their end-of-year exams. Their determination, resilience, and commitment have been outstanding, and we are confident that their hard work will bring excellent results. The whole House is behind them as they take this important step into the future.

Grevillea House continues to thrive as a community built on pride, perseverance, and progress. With every new achievement, we are reminded of what can be accomplished when students and staff work together with energy and passion.
