Language & Culture Program

Kii, Deadly TPS community, biladu-njan wat/how are you all? And in the words of my Yawuru language...Ngaji gurrjin/Hello everyone! I hope you are all well and safe!

Term Three saw us finishing off our learning about ‘Winthoonth Wutanbaj Djumbuna - Regeneration and Women’s Business’ season. Ngoon-godjin to students for their effort and engagement with my lessons during that time. I received some wonderful feedback from some parents who were also appreciative of sharing the learning journey with their children.

The start of Term 4 had us continuing with home learning. In this time, students have practised some of their Woiwurrung, in preparation for the return to school. Students were also involved in a wonderful initiative from the Essendon Football Club, where they were involved in creating a design for the football jumper that will be worn by the players in 2023 during the ‘Dreamtime at the G’ match against Richmond. We received so many amazing designs. Jackie Sinclair and Momo Willcox were the two students whose designs were finally chosen. Well done to all who submitted their designs. We will be displaying them at school and I will upload a presentation of all designs.

I look forward to continuing our learning journey with the students, face to face, back at school. I am so excited!
