P to the E with Leigh

It feels like a long time since we’ve all been together at school playing games and sport. Online learning this term with the Foundation and 1/2s was focused on small easy to manage activities that the students could spend some of their day active with their families. The students and parents all improved learning online and I can’t be any more impressed in the videos and photos of the students learning. Thankyou.

The upper school worked on a small unit of exercise through martial arts. I have some knowledge of Kung Fu and worked on simple lessons around the history and techniques. I wasn’t expecting all students to enjoy the techniques but had expectations that they would complete the exercises. What I didn’t realise is that so many of the children have lessons outside of school and so they were familiar with many of the techniques.

The 3/4s and 5/6 children all improved in uploading and responding with pictures and videos of their work. I would like to thank the students, the parents and carers as I appreciate the effort having four children myself how much effort and time went into recording and responding with your children’s work.

I think the whole community learnt something about teaching and the work that we all as teachers put into preparation of lessons. The teachers learnt that the children needed each other and the google meets and the simple chance to interact with your friends was so important.

Lastly I know that being active is so important in our daily lives. I can’t wait to get back to school and take the things that I have learnt and apply this to my lessons this term.

Leigh.
