Art & Craft

Remote Learning

As our home learning continued throughout term three and into term four, the students have shown incredible resilience and perseverance to complete their art and craft work. One of the more engaging artworks that kids absolutely loved was making nature inspired hairstyles. There were so many fun and inventive hairstyles! We then went on to explore Art spinners. Students created paper spinners with scrap cardboard and different colour combinations. These certainly were challenging to get them off and spinning but still lots of fun.

TPS students have been given an incredible opportunity to design the Dreamtime jumpers to be worn by the Essendon football club for the 2023 Sir Doug Nicholls Dreamtime Round.  Aunty Terri and I collaborated in delivering the lessons to inform and inspire our students. The students were encouraged to use Bunjil, Waa and the little bird Darebin in their designs. They also incorporated the line work used by the Wurundjeri people and recognised art symbols used by Aborignial people in their art making.

We are pleased to announce the winners of this competition are Momo Wilcox 5/6 C and Jackie Sinclair 5/6 B. Congratulations to both artists for their efforts and creativity. We can't wait to see how the design team at Essendon combine their artwork for the 2023 Dreamtime jumper!
