Year 1

Year 1 Dinner

Through their years at The Lakes South Morang College, students are involved in various activities that make up our camp program.  In Year 1, students return to school one evening to enjoy a dinner away from home.  This activity provides an opportunity for students to build their independence as well as strengthen friendships and let’s not forget have FUN!

After enjoying a scrumptious dinner, students were able to relax with a refreshing icy pole followed by dancing in their very own disco!

Students were also excited to have their special guests; Kerrie, Bill, Chris, Marcus, Maria and Rob.

Here is what some of our students had to say about our dinner:

On Tuesday 3rd December, it was the Year 1 dinner.  I was so excited I couldn’t breathe!  I wore a very pretty dress, it was black and covered in colourful flowers.  When I walked in we sat down at our special place mats we had made.  Dinner was pizza and chips with milo or water.  I had a milo.  After dinner we had jelly we had made ourselves. There was also fruit for the people who didn’t want jelly.  Once we finished we were given an icy pole, they were freezing cold!  Then we relaxed for a little while and finally we listened to music and danced.  Then we had to go home.

At the Year 1 dinner on Tuesday evening, we ate dinner.  We had pizza and chips, sometimes I put chips on my pizza but this time I didn’t.  We had icy poles, we also had jelly.  I had an orange, there was also green and red.  In the jelly there was freddo frogs!  After the icy poles we had a disco.  The best thing was that I got to be with my friends at night time and the milo was really good.

At the Year 1 dinner, we had a disco. I loved the dancing and Oliver and I had the same T shirt on, it was a Star Wars one.   We had pizza and chips for dinner.  After dinner we had  jelly with icy poles.  The best part ever was having the disco.  I loved Barbra Anne!
