Year 9 Chef Starter

In Chef Starter this term, we were busy planning a teacher’s lunch for our major assignment. We made a survey to survey teachers on what they would like to eat at lunch time so we knew what foods would be popular to eat. We had a practice run where we were able to cook our foods and taste test it to see if we needed to change anything. A few of us changed our ideas as our first plan didn’t work out so well. When we did cook for the teachers, we had a massive turnout of teachers who supported us and tried our food. It was heaps of fun!

Year 8 Food Discovery

Year 8 Food Discovery we learnt and cooked foods from different cultures including India, Italy, Greece, France, Thai and many more. We had many opportunities where we decided on what foods to cook foods from a country of our choice and researched typical meals in those countries. It was really interesting to learn about what a typical breakfast is in different countries compared to Australia. Overall, we have learnt many new skills in the kitchen and new knowledge about foods from different cultures.

Year 7 Food Technology

It was so much fun cooking this semester! Being able to do Food Technology for the first time has been a really fun experience for our class. We have learnt how to safely cut food and how to use the stove and oven. The best part of Food Technology is we get to eat what we cook! Some of our favourites have been sausage rolls, burgers, cookies, pizza and muffins.
