Year 10 Photography Excursion

On Thursday the 19th of May, the Year 10 photography students visited the International Festival of Photography (Photo: 2022) to explore different artworks across Melbourne city.

Artists displayed themes including morality, connection, nature, and history through their works.

This excursion allowed the photography students to review their relationship to the theme of ‘being human’ through artworks, allowing students to recognise the major social and political relationships displayed by artists around the world.

The students visited Melbourne’s iconic sites and explored how photography relates to the impact of art on current major affairs, visiting a range of locations including AC/DC and Hosier Lane, St. Paul's Cathedral, and the NGV. Photos were taken by students throughout the day and many students referenced these sites to learn more about themselves and photography.
