Year 7 Camp

Year 7  Kinglake Forest Camp

In week seven of Term 2, 200 of our Year 7 students attended a forest adventure and

well-being camp located in Kinglake.

The camp ran for three days and two nights. Throughout their time, students participated in a range of fun activities and built up their cold tolerance in Melbourne's coldest start to June in decades!

The cold and wet weather didn't stop the fun and students came together as they always do; through solving a range of challenging activities and eating far too many lollies in their cabins.

Team-building activities across the three days are specifically designed to build their problem-solving abilities, resilience, and cooperation skills. Students had to share and learn about their team's collective strengths to compete against the other teams to solve challenges.

The leap of faith was a crowd favourite, with the giant see-saw, and tree climbing closely in second place. Wallaby feeding, forest bathing, mediation and trivia nights were also parts of the program. The final morning culminated in the wilder-gaining team challenge designed to combine all of the skills and knowledge they had gained throughout the three days and put them in to action.

I would like to express my immense gratitude to all the staff and pre-service teachers, who volunteered their time to ensure the camp ran smoothly and made the Year 7 Camp experience a truly enjoyable one for all students.
