Principal's Report

Congratulations to our students and staff for their amazing effort throughout the very busy term as we continued to navigate through the persistent COVID challenges. Students have reconnected to their peers, teachers, and their learning and we are very pleased with their engagement in both the learning and teaching and co-curricular programs.

This newsletter showcases and celebrates our wonderful Blackburn High School Community and encapsulates the outstanding school culture, the resilience of our students and the commitment and dedication of our staff.

We are getting back to the ‘normal’ rhythm of school life with students preparing well for their classwork, examinations, SACS, and CATs. Participation in the interschool sporting program has been outstanding with most of our teams progressing to the next level.

Following two years of interruptions, we returned to the joys of live music with students performing to a packed and delighted audience for the midyear music concert. In addition, students have resumed their involvement in the range of school clubs.

On Monday 6 June, we had a visit from the State Treasurer, Mr Tim Pallas and the local member for Box Hill, Mr Paul Hamer. Mr Pallas and Mr Hamer provided a 30-minute informative Q&A session with the student on any topic that they wanted to talk about. In addition, there was a tour of the 14 room STEM Centre precinct.

We wish all our students and families a safe and wonderful holiday break.
