From the Principal
Congratulations to our students, staff and families on a wonderful Term 3 at Oxley Christian College. The term concluded with a special Wellbeing Week, offering opportunities to reflect, connect and celebrate as a community. As I look back on the many experiences and achievements of the past term, I am grateful for the rich learning and co-curricular opportunities that have enriched our students' educational journey and contributed positively to their wellbeing. Through these activities, students have strengthened their sense of belonging, served others, deepened their learning and formed meaningful connections with their peers and the wider community. It has been a delight to see our students embrace these opportunities with enthusiasm, commitment and character throughout the term.
The Performing Arts have flourished at Oxley this term, highlighted by our school productions, including the Secondary School production of Newsies, co-directed by Mrs Gabrielle Bail and Miss Claire Hogan and produced by Miss Hogan, and the Junior School production of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang JR., directed by Mr Jeffrey Clarke. These productions offer students opportunities to connect, collaborate and showcase their talents across music, drama and dance. Performing to capacity audiences of family, friends and staff, our students delivered outstanding performances. Thank you to the many staff, students and volunteers who supported these productions. Thank you also to our parents, who have supported our students in preparing for these special productions. Congratulations to the casts and production teams on two outstanding musicals.
Oxley students have enjoyed an excellent term of sporting success. Several teams won premierships in the EISM Weekly Sport competition, including our Year 7 Boys and Girls Table Tennis teams, the Senior Girls and Boys Badminton A teams, and our Senior Boys Netball Team, which secured its fifth consecutive premiership. The Secondary School were also crowned champions at the EISM Division 2 Cross Country, making it our third victory this year alongside EISM Swimming and Athletics. Our Junior School athletes also excelled at District Athletics, with 33 students qualifying for the Division event across 34 individual events and five relays. These achievements highlight the character, teamwork, perseverance and discipline fostered through sport at Oxley. Thank you to the staff who supported our teams throughout the term.
Another highlight this term has been the achievements of our Year 10 Debating students. They won the Octo-final against Melbourne High School on Monday 14 September. Our team has done a wonderful job collaborating to prepare for this rigorous activity, which challenges students' critical thinking and public speaking skills. Thank you to Mrs Rebekah Paul for her amazing efforts in supporting all our debating students to participate in this competition.
Many other experiences have enriched our students' sense of belonging and connection this term, including year-level camps and excursions, the VEX Robotics Competition, EISM Cross Country, soirees and gala evenings, student leadership and voice initiatives, Chapel services, and many other opportunities.
One of the great strengths of our College community is the way we encourage and support one another. Through shared experiences, we build meaningful relationships, develop a deeper sense of belonging, and grow together. As a Christian community, we also have the privilege of encouraging one another in our faith as we seek to follow Jesus. May we continue to find our purpose, identity, and hope in Him.
My prayer is that we remain encouraged by the words of Romans 12:2.
Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—His good, pleasing and perfect will.

On behalf of the College staff, I wish our students and families a refreshing and enjoyable holiday break. We look forward to welcoming everyone back for a wonderful final term as we conclude the 2026 school year. We give thanks to God for His many blessings throughout the year and for His faithfulness, goodness and grace.
