Mentone RSL gig night

On Thursday the 8th of September many talented individuals came together to perform at the Mentone RSL. The Stage Band, Funkadelics, A Trio Performance, Junior and Senior Guitar Ensembles all had a chance to perform to a live audience with a side of lasagna! This was a relaxed environment with a very interactive and supportive audience.

Junior guitar ensemble kicked off the night with singer Ress Wade, they performed Tainted Love and Summer of 69. Then moved onto the Senior Guitar Ensemble. A jaw-dropping performance with beautiful sound and vocals from singers Megan J and Ress W. They continued to bring the classics in with Smooth, Lady Marmalade and Zebra. Both ensembles put on an incredible performance as always.

There was then a break from all the upbeat music and a slow paced heartfelt Trio performance took centre stage. Bella J, Ress W and Stacey A played "New York, Paris" which was most definitely a tear jerker.

The Stage Band brought a very "jazzy" feel to their performance which made Gomez and Morticia spark their love once again with a tango (Haha).

Then to conclude the night, The Funkadelics performed. We performed 4 songs : You Know I'm No Good, Crazy, How Long Do I Have To Wait and Uptown Funk. I may be a little bit biased as I am the singer for Funks, though I think they did incredible ! I am so beyond proud of the band's performance as this was our last performance with the current year 12s. A special shout out to extremely talented Bella, Isobel, Sam, Sarah and Mr. Veevers who without them the band wouldn't be the same.

To Conclude it was an incredibly entertaining and emotional night for all attending.

Special thanks to Ms Cook, Mr Veevers and all the teachers involved in making it happen).
