Kingston Youth Awards

Congratulations to Amberley P (Sports Captain and College Council Student Representative) was a finalist at this year's Kington Young Citizen of the Year.

Amberly was one of five finalists presented with a framed certificate and gift as acknowledgement of her tireless efforts supporting students across all year levels via her student leadership role, her position on the College Council and her enthusiasm for getting involved and improving the student landscape at MGSC.

Student Leadership positions

Applications for positions in 2023 will open soon.  Here is a short message from our College Captains, Isobel L and Olivia G. While they speak about being College Captain, their message is relevant to students interested in developing their skills in teamwork, public speaking, independence, organising events, improving student opportunities at MGSC and making new friends.

Application is via a Google form and enquiries are to Ms Harvey.

MUNA at MGSC

Are you interested in representing a country and your house in the upcoming MUNA event at MGSC? It's a chance to win some House points and prizes.

Based on the Model United Nations Assembly, pairs of students compete in a debate style event responding to a typical UN Resolution representing one of the countries listed below. Recently, our two representatives, Alannah D and Mahdis S from Year 9 won the Peace Prize at the inter school event.

Our event next term will include pairs of students from Years 7-10. If you are interested in being part of a delegation for one of the countries above, email Mahdis on sor0008@mgsc.vic.edu.au

We are also welcoming new members to the regular weekly debate teams. We meet every Tuesday in Room 6/7.  We usually set a topic one week and debate the next, building  public speaking skills, preparing speeches and working as a team. Join the debating club  classroom:  bzchfna
