Year 12 Health and Human Development Birthing Kit Construction

The Year 12 Health and Human Development group spent a receent Wednesday afternoon constructing birthing kits which are then dispatched to low income based countries as part of their Unit 4 global focus. The kits consist of gauze, string, gloves, soap, plastic sheet and a blade. The students put together 200 kits which will then be sent to countries in need via the Birthing Kit Foundation and supplied to health facilities for use by doctors, midwives and nurses. The kits are designed to support hygienic practice during childbirth.
