SMALL GRANTS AND SPONSORS

Friends of Footscray City College raises funds to support our Small Grants Program. It provides students with much needed equipment and resources not covered by other school funding.

At the recent Chefs dinner, we distributed $12 000 to a range of projects submitted by teachers and a student-led project, including:

A multi station fitness apparatus for the gym

A Short throw lens for use in the theatre to create projected backdrops

CAS calculators and docking station for short and long-term loan from the library to students studying higher level maths

Stabiliser holders for cameras used in Media studies

Tree stock, seedlings, seeds, mulch and soil conditioners for the Environmental Centre Farm

A contribution toward the establishment of a wind farm as part of a STEAM project

A student initiated project to establish a Stop Motion filming studio

It was great to hear some of the teachers speak about how these grants help support and engage the students at FCC.

Our recent fundraising events have included a silent auction at our Chefs dinner, a raffle and refreshments during the school production of Big Fish, and participation in the Scouts raffle. Thanks to all who have supported these projects by helping out, donating, bidding, and buying raffle tickets, drinks and snacks. Winners of the Big Fish raffle have been notified.

New members are always welcome. There are lots of ways you can help even if you can’t get to our meetings.
