Athletics Carnival
The air was filled with excitement as students gathered at the sports field for the Athletics Carnival Day. As the day started, a buzz of anticipation filled the air as the athletes marched onto the field while the crowd applauded and cheered.
The carnival started with the track events and the crowd cheered as the athletes raced towards the finish line. As the day progressed, the carnival became more and more exciting, with the athletes showcasing their skills in various events. Field events were spread across the day, with discus, shot put, javelin, long jump, triple jump, and high jump. The athletes put on a great show with Lumanyan O of 11D managing to break a record in the 200m sprint, beating the old record from 2010 by almost 2 seconds at 29.85s! Hichot D of 7C also set a new record for the 400m! Congratulations to both of these champions! The relay races were the highlight of the day, with teams competing against each other in a thrilling display. The crowd was on their feet, cheering their peers to victory. The atmosphere was electric and everyone was having a great time.
Finally, the carnival came to a close and the winners were announced. Banksia cheered as they were crowned as the winners for 2023 and the athletes were filled with pride, while their classmates celebrated their victory. The athletics carnival day was a huge success, bringing together students and teachers in a fun-filled day of sports and entertainment.
