From the Principal

As we look back on a short but intense term, I think we should congratulate our community on what we have achieved. Despite staffing challenges that are facing all schools across Victoria, we maintained a safe, positive and productive learning environment with students and teachers engaged in their learning. Final assessments have been completed, reports communicated to families via Compass, and we are all looking forward to Semester 2.

Thank you to all parents, carers and students who attended the Senior Studies information sessions in week 7. Attendance was high and many asked probing and thoughtful questions. Pathways planning sessions designed to support students in their course selections and future career choices, will begin for Years 9, 10 and 11 early next term.

There is no doubt that a highlight of the term was the return of our House Chorales festival, in the final week. This was the first time we have held the competition in 3 years, and it was wonderful to see the students enthusiasm and commitment as they “sang for their House”. Congratulations to Eucalyptus House who were named the champions.

The event marked an important step in rebuilding our community after the pandemic and I look forward to Chorales becoming, once again, a key element in our school calendar in years to come. Term 3 will also provide opportunities to celebrate student achievement when we hold our theatrical production in Week 6 and acknowledge who we are as a community through our Cultural Celebration Week in Week 10.

I hope you enjoy a restful holiday break and look forward to welcoming all students back to school on Tuesday 11th July.

Best Wishes,

Susan Ogden
