Hakea House

Hello everyone, my name is Zainab, and I am honoured to introduce myself as one of the Hakea House Captains for this year.

Alongside Junior, I am excited to take on the responsibility of leading our House with enthusiasm and dedication. Being entrusted with this role fills me with a sense of pride and determination to foster a supportive and inclusive environment within our house community.

I am looking forward to working closely with Junior, the SRC members (Emra, Mridula, Ali, Zarbibi, Hava & Keren), and HLT to organize exciting events, encourage participation in school events, and ensure that every member feels valued and heard. So far this term, Hakea House has taken on the responsibility of hosting the open night for families, providing them with a warm welcome and a glimpse into the vibrant life of our school community.

Adding to the creative energy, we've also launched the highly anticipated Hakea Art Competition. With entries closing in Week 8, artists of all ages and skill levels can submit their masterpieces for the chance to win prestigious prizes and show off their artistic abilities. Hakean students have also been enthusiastically participating in inter-school sports competitions in the intermediate, junior, and senior divisions, showcasing their talents and dedication while representing our school with pride and sportsmanship.

Hakea 7 Transition Allstars!

During a Year 7 assembly earlier this term, we awarded two students from each House for being Transition Allstars!

Congratulations to Keren, who has made an excellent start to Dandenong High School and has been an excited and enthusiastic member of the House. She has been eager to participate in class and completed class activities to the best of her ability. She has demonstrated determination and zest in the Year 7 excursion and was a shining example of the Hakea spirit. Keren always has a smile on her face and should be very proud of her transition to Dandenong so far!

We also congratulate Dianne, who has been a caring and supportive member of her class and has gone outside her own comfort zone to provide encouragement and guidance to other members of 7H. Her compassion for other students and her inclusive nature embody the Hakea spirit. Well done to Dianne for not only her own transition to high school, but for supporting the transition of other students!
