The Mongol Empire

This term, Year 8 students learnt about the Mongol Empire and its leader, Genghis Khan. They discovered how he was good at leading, both in battles and in ruling his empire fairly. They also found out that he was tolerant of different religions. During their lessons, students were told to think about how people back then saw things differently. They were asked to figure out why things happened and what drove people to act the way they did. They also learnt to think about why certain individuals or groups were important and how their beliefs influenced them. To showcase their understanding, the students created posters using the knowledge they gained from the lessons. These posters helped them to visually represent what they had learned about the Mongol Empire, Genghis Khan and the different aspects of history they explored.
