Banksia House
Hello there, my name is Jay. I am both honoured and excited to be one of your House Captains for 2024.
I’d like to start by extending a warm welcome back to school for 2024, along with a special welcome to all of our new Year 7s and any other new students joining us in 2024. Let’s make this year bright with colourful memories and smiles, ensuring that when we look back, we can recall the joyful time we had together as a cohort.
I would also like to say a heartfelt thank you to all those who wore our House colours for the Swimming Carnival and to those who cheered on our teammates, plus even greater thanks is extended to those Banksians who took to the water and swam with courage and strength. Though we may not have come first, you made us all proud and I believe the whole event served as a delightful kick-off to the year, with great displays of camaraderie and sportsmanship within our House.
This year, I look forward to collaborating closely with my fellow Banksians and Banksian leaders to foster the best for our bright orange community and would like to see increased participation of Banksians across all school activities. It really is as easy as putting up your hand and saying “Yes”.
Your House Leadership Team have already begun brainstorming ideas to enhance community engagement within Banksia House and welcome any and all suggestions and feedback for anything you would like to see changed or implemented within our lively House. Please speak to one of us or your SRC so we can raise it in our next meeting.
To close, I wish all Banksians a wonderful holiday break and look forward to seeing you amazing people next term.

Banksia 7 Transition Allstars!
During a Year 7 assembly earlier this term, we awarded two students from each House for being Transition Allstars!
Congratulations to Hefsiba, who has shown great leadership qualities and has been a huge support for his new classmates and in Banksia House. At the Lysterfield Park excursion, Hefsiba displayed enormous commitment to the task of collecting rubbish and improving the park!
We also congratulate Rayyan, who has quietly and earnestly transitioned to high school. He has given everything a go and has shown an excellent, positive attitude and commitment to making new friends and adjusting to Dandenong High School!
