Molesworth Street Kindergarten

From Audrey, Rachel, Amy and Sakoon, Early Childhood teachers
Welcome to Term 2!
The four-year-old Kindergarten children wrapped up Term 1 with some Easter celebrations, a cosy Pyjama Day and a shortbread-baking session that all the children took part in. We were all delighted to measure, mix, especially shaping the dough and putting them in its packaging so we can take them home to show and share with our families.
Before the school holidays, the gardening enthusiasts of the Red capped Robin group also helped sow pea and spring onions seeds. We were all surprised to return and be greeted by thriving plants that had grown so much taller and stronger, ready for a bigger home in our garden beds.
We’re so excited to have everyone back in Kinder, and it’s been wonderful welcoming new children into our community too. We’re looking forward to another term of learning, fun, and connection.
HIPPY Program: Enrolments now open!
Since 2024, many of the kindergarten children enrolled in 3-year-old Kindergarten program have been joining HIPPY or Home Interaction Program for Parents and Youngsters. It is a fun, free, home-based early learning and parenting program.
A child’s earliest and most powerful learning comes from their family, and HIPPY helps build parents’ skills and confidence in their role as their child’s first teacher. HIPPY parents work through weekly or fortnightly packs of play-based, educational activities with their child.
The activities give parents valuable, focussed one-on-one time with their child; and, throughout the two-year program, parents learn about their child's learning style. Parents also receive guidance on child development, how to empower and give their child confidence to learn; and support their child’s transition and engagement with school.
To find out if you and your child are eligible to join, kindly fill out an expression of interest through this link: https://hippyaustralia.bsl.org.au/site/north-melbourne/ or contact:
