Errol St Campus

From Tess Vu, Senior school Art teacher

Welcome Back to the Art Room

In Art, students have begun the term with an imaginative drawing project inspired by illustrator Kristina Kememikova. They explored her whimsical artworks, where she uses anthropomorphism to depict animals living in secret homes and cosy underground burrows.

Using these ideas as a starting point, students have created their own imaginative “secret worlds,” transforming animals into human-like characters with unique homes and environments. With the option of working independently or collaboratively, they focused on adding thoughtful details to show how their characters live, what they might enjoy, and how their spaces reflect their personalities.

Art Club News

Art Club will be running on Tuesdays during second playtime for Term 2.

We look forward to welcoming students along for more creative sessions!

At the end of last term, Grade 5 students Matilda, Clementine and Emma did a wonderful job planning and facilitating a special Easter craft activity. They created paper baskets for students to decorate with festive details.

In the first week back this term, students took part in a special project where they decorated aprons which will be worn by teachers and helpers for our morning Breakfast Club. It was great to see students designing with a purpose and contributing to the wider school community.
