Catholic Performing Arts Festival

The Spirit of the Arts 2026 Catholic Performing Arts Festival showcases performers from Catholic schools across the state.  It was an honour to be part of the Opening Mass with student representatives; Arts Captain Cassie L and the Arts team – Marwin P, Elizabeth B and Caitlin P. Our St Norbert performers are enthusiastic and passionate about their engagement in a range of specialist Arts areas.  We congratulate our students on the exceptional skills they are sharing with the community; achieved through hours of commitment to practise and bravery in performing to a live audience.  We are in awe of you.  Congratulations and all the best to our musicians and dancers who are still to perform.

Our College Drama Performance `A Midsummer Night’s Dream’ by William Shakespeare, performed in Term 2 was adjudicated by members of the festival committee, awarding our students a Certificate of Excellence, acknowledging their skillful, dynamic and collaborative performance.

Congratulations also to Mrs Crocker and all our College Dance Teams on your participation in the `School to Stage’ Dance comp last weekend.  Your performances are of the highest standards - creative, captivating and skillful. We extend our thanks to Miss Zampino for her support of the Dance program and these teams.  We wish you all the best for your performances this evening at the Convention Centre.

Co-Curricular Dance

On Saturday August 1st, the St Norbert College Co-Curricular Dance students proudly performed at the School to Stage Dance Competition, an inter-school event that provides performance opportunities for dance students from schools across Perth. Over 35 schools competed and 1800 students participated in the two day competition.

Our students performed exceptionally well, and we are happy to share their outstanding achievements:

  • The Junior Dance Team received an Honourable Mention for their jazz work, Unquiet Mind

  • The Canons Hip Hop Crew also received an Honourable Mention for their energetic performance, When Life Gives You Lemons.

  • Congratulations to our Senior Dance Team, who were awarded Second Place for their contemporary piece, Phobia.

It was a highly competitive event showcasing an incredible standard of talent from schools across Western Australia. We are immensely proud of every student who represented St Norbert College with professionalism, passion, and pride. Congratulations to all involved on a fantastic achievement.

We now turn our attention to the annual Catholic Performing Arts Festival tonight. It is certainly a busy performance season, but the excitement and enthusiasm of our students continue to shine. We wish all of our dance teams the very best as they take to the stage once again.

Music

Congratulations to all of our students who have performed in the Catholic Performing Arts Festival so far! We have had some tremendous performances from our Woodwind, Percussion and String ensembles, as well as our solo vocalists. Each performance has been a great celebration of their work and practice throughout the year and we are extremely proud of their dedication to not only their individual instruments, but the ensembles that they are a part of.
