Res Week

Residential Programs & Activities Week

Our recent Residential Programs for Years 7, 8, 10 and 12 were a wonderful success, with students embracing new experiences, strengthening friendships and enjoying time together beyond the classroom. As the week progressed, the weather improved each day, allowing students to fully enjoy the activities and beautiful outdoor settings.

For our Year 7 students, this was their first camp together as a cohort and a special opportunity to build new connections. A highlight was travelling to Lorne to spend a day with their Year 12 buddies, where the two-year levels enjoyed a range of beach activities including capture the flag, sand sculpting competitions, spike ball tournaments and plenty of fun by the water.

Our Year 12 students spent their time in Lorne reflecting on the year ahead. With the support of several inspiring guest speakers, students began setting intentions for their final year and strengthening their sense of unity as a cohort. Together they established their Year 12 motto, “All for one and one for all,” capturing their commitment to supporting one another throughout the year.

The Year 10 program provided students with the opportunity to step outside their comfort zones and take on new challenges. Highlights included sailing and abseiling, as well as the memorable experience of sleeping under the stars during the striking red moon of the lunar eclipse.

Meanwhile, our Year 8 students at Gilwell Park embraced the adventure program with great enthusiasm. Activities such as river sledding and rock climbing were clear favourites, encouraging teamwork, resilience and plenty of laughter.

The Year 9 and 11s have also had an action-packed activity week. The Year 11s career orientated program focussed on tertiary pathways, study skills, goal setting and leadership skills. They had the opportunity to listen to alumni talking about their professions, and we thank the many ex-scholars that shared their passion and experiences about their professions.

The Year 9s have had the opportunity to visit the Monash Technology School, participate in the Aquathon and finished the week on visiting city sights through the Urban Adventures program.

These programs would not be possible without the generosity and commitment of our staff. We extend our sincere thanks to the teachers who gave their time to accompany students and help create such meaningful experiences for our community.
