Art & Design

Our Art students have been exploring a wide range of creative processes this term.
Year 7 students have been experimenting with foam printing, a hands-on introduction to printmaking. Inspired by nature illustration books, students designed and carved their own images into foam before using ink and rollers to transfer their prints onto paper.
Year 8 students have been busy with ceramics, creating a collection of unique clay vessels and developing their understanding of form, balance and surface design.
Year 9 students have been refining their painting techniques by working in layered processes on clear acrylic Perspex, building depth, colour and transparency in their artworks.
In the senior years, Year 10 Art and Design students have continued to develop their skills on the pottery wheel, working towards greater control and more refined forms.
Meanwhile, our Year 11 and 12 VCD students have been designing and developing prototypes, with several students experimenting with laser-cut components as part of their design solutions.
