Previous Career(s) or Jobs Before Education:
Prior to teaching, I established my career as a practising product designer, an identity I continue to maintain alongside my work in education. Following my graduation, I exhibited my work at the London Design Festival, collaborated with the global brand Anthropologie, and showcased my designs in exhibitions throughout the United Kingdom.
After relocating to Australia, I founded and grew my own product design business into a successful enterprise working with manufacturers and following the entire design process, While I enjoyed the challenge and creativity of running a successful design business, I ultimately chose to return to teaching to inspire and develop the next generation of designers – that fulfilled me more and I always choose joy!
Remaining a practising designer is fundamental to my teaching philosophy. It allows me to bridge the gap between classroom learning and industry practice by providing students with authentic, contemporary examples of design thinking, manufacturing processes and product development.
Also - my Year 10 work experience was at an airport and I was an airhostess for 2 days.
Hobbies & Interests: I am a proud parent to three young children and live in our community. Outside of teaching, you'll find me gardening, renovating our dream home, bee keeping and harvesting our own honey, caring for our 13 chickens and adding to our ever growing collection of animals. I love baking and believe there's nothing better than bringing people together around a table filled with good food and laughter. Creativity is at the heart of everything I do, whether I'm designing, making art with my children or tackling a new project.

An Interesting Fact About Me:
- I have lived in three countries across three continents.
- I tend to accidently bring home more animals.
- I once made the front page of a magazine, I had no idea until I saw my face whilst doing my weekly food shop (good article about my designs).
Favourite Holiday Destination: I travelled a lot before having kids, however, Australia is currently is our favourite simply because it is so new to us. However, my childhood was being brought us travelling to Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe, this would have to be my all time favourite location due to the memories.
