Arts Festival

A Weekend to Remember

What an incredible celebration of talent, creativity and community spirit our Arts Festival was this year!

Held across a jam-packed day on Saturday 12th September, our Performing Arts Centre and college grounds came alive with music, dance, drama and visual art, showcasing the very best of what our students have to offer.

Our Visual Art & Design Showcase gave the community a chance to wander through an impressive display of student work, including textiles, digital and traditional art, woodwork, metalwork and other innovative creations — all set to the beautiful sound of live piano improvisations from our talented VCE Music students throughout the day.

Our Performing Arts Showcase brought two spectacular sessions of dance, music and drama performances to the stage, with our students wowing audiences with their skill, confidence and passion. Alongside this, our Unplugged acoustic sessions gave guitarists and singers the chance to share relaxed, intimate sets for our community to enjoy.

With Blacky's Coffee Van and a fully stocked Candy Bar keeping everyone fuelled throughout the day, the festival truly had something for everyone.

A huge congratulations must go to every student who performed, exhibited or contributed their creativity to this event - your talent continues to amaze us. And of course, none of this would have been possible without the incredible effort of our staff. A massive shout-out and thank you to everyone behind the scenes - from planning and set-up, to running sessions throughout the day, to pulling it all together your dedication made this festival the success it was.

Thank you to everyone who came along to support and celebrate our students. Events like this are a wonderful reminder of just how much talent and creativity we have within our Gisborne Secondary College community.
