Sport: Ruby Burns

 TOP 10 IN AUSTRALIA - MTB Nationals.

 

Congratulations to Year 10 Ruby Burns who achieved two Top 10 Finishes at the Australian Mountain Biking Interschools Nationals in Thredbo.

 

She was 8th in the Fox Flow event (in a time of 8:34.78), and 10th in the 6km All Mountain race (9:50.22).

 

In both events, she was the fastest Victorian rider in Australia.

 

It’s the 3rd year in a row Ruby has been Australian Top 10. In 2024 she was 9th in the same two events, and last year she went 10th in the Pump Track as a bottom ager.

 

The Merriwa House Captain has just returned from 3 months Exchange in the Czech Republic, and has represented us 21 times in 12 different sports over the last 2 years.

 

Her great mate and former Wangaratta City FC teammate Inanay Gilson, who was 8th last year in the prestigious “Queen Of The Mountain” overall trophy, missed this year due to being in Spain on Exchange for 6 months.
