Top Arts Excursion

Inspiring and Engaging

Our recent Melbourne Top Arts excursion was an inspiring and highly engaging experience, giving students a powerful glimpse into the very best of creative work across the state. At ACMI, Media students were captivated by Top Screens 2026, where bold storytelling, technical precision and innovative use of sound and editing highlighted what it takes to produce work at the highest level.

Meanwhile, Creative Art and VET Apparel students explored Melbourne’s gallery spaces, street art and fabric shops before engaging deeply with the Top Arts exhibition at NGV Australia. Here, students examined folios rich in experimentation, personal voice and refined visual language, gaining valuable insight into how ideas are developed, documented and resolved.

The afternoon at NGV International immersed students in the Westwood Kawakubo exhibition, where avant-garde fashion challenged conventions of form, identity and design. This sparked thoughtful discussions about creativity, risk-taking and future pathways in the arts.

Across the day, our students were awesome—exceptionally engaged and returning with fresh ideas and a clearer understanding of how to elevate their own folio work. We now look forward to bringing this inspiration back into the classroom, as students apply these insights to their own creative practice.
