We currently have the call out for our Semester Two intake of students who would like to join the school's Student Voice Team!
Year Group Representatives can be self or teacher nominated. Members are students who consistently follow our school core values of Respect, Responsiblity, Commitment and Cooperation. They act as a role model within the school community and develop and execute ideas to make our school environment a better place!
Most recently, the SVT hosted our 2026 Athletics Carnival BBQ. With your support we raised over $500 which will be donated to a local charity. The SVT have chosen Carrie's Place, which provides a range of programs for people experiencing domestic and family violence, and/or homelessness in the Maitland and Hunter Valley areas. We look forward to recognising the hard work they do in our community formally

Another example of how our school community can come together to support a cause was our World's Greatest Shave celebration on the last day of Term 1. Despite attendance being low, the whole school got behind Mr Douglas and Connor Taylor as they lopped off their locks in an effort to raise money and awareness for the Leukaemia Foundation.

Connor raised a whopping $2, 517, far exceeding his initial target and together as a school we were able to contribute and additional $277.

For the second year, SVT members were invited to attend the NSW Legislative Council's Regional Roadshow Youth Forum. The purpose of this forum is to include youth voices in the discussion with parliamentary members about the issues that matter to them. Our students spoke with confidence about issues about funding in the public school system, literacy concerns, the cost of living crisis, social media engagement and a need to address youth crime more effectively.
We can't wait to meet our new members and start making positive changes here at FGHS!
