Vocational Education and Training

One of our Year 12 Manufacturing and Engineering students Chase Hayman-Hanby recently completed his mandatory work placement and gained firsthand industry experience in a local mechanical workshop. During the placement, he had the exciting opportunity to assist in rebuilding a car motor, allowing him to apply his practical skills and deepen his understanding of engineering processes. The experience provided Chase with an insight into workplace expectations, teamwork, problem-solving and the importance of precision and safety within the manufacturing and automotive industry. It was fantastic to see him demonstrating enthusiasm, initiative and a strong willingness to learn while working alongside industry professionals.

Meanwhile, our Year 11 VET students are currently preparing for their upcoming work placements in Term 3 by completing their Work Readiness Course. Through this course, students are developing essential employability skills including workplace communication, workplace health and safety, and professional conduct. This preparation is helping students build confidence and ensure they are well equipped to transition successfully into real workplace environments.
