Defence School Mentor News

Many thanks to all staff and students involved in the recent recording of the school's ANZAC Day commemoration.
Army Cadets Ronald Rosier and Ruby Delaney, along with Air Force Cadet Harper Dollin and student Tian Meyer should be highly commended for their roles as flag bearers for this event. These students dedicated many lunchtimes to rehearsing, carefully following correct protocols and ensuring our national flags were treated with respect and dignity.
Defence students Charles Lewis and Zaine Thomson contributed by reciting the ANZAC Day prayer, and laying the wreath. We were honoured to welcome Flight Lieutenant Brendan Knox from Williamtown RAAF base, who delivered a moving and engaging speech.
Late last term, Defence Group held our quarterly trivia competition. The theme was 'Gaming' with Evan taking first place, Samantha finishing second and Logan placing third.
Recently, Defence Group students have been busy making red poppy badges for ANZAC Day, plotting the places they've lived on a map of Australia, creating Mother's Day cards, enjoying treats together, and broadening their social connections through our ‘bring a friend’ activity.
Next fortnight we will hold our Trivia competition for this term, with the theme ‘The Natural World’.
If you are a Defence family and your child is not currently involved in the Defence School Mentor Program, please notify the school so they can be included.
