ACC All Star

All Star accolades for Fieke

The Associated & Catholic Colleges of WA (ACC) recognises outstanding individual achievement through the provision of Honorary and Representative “All Star” Teams. These teams consist of the best performers in each event at the ACC carnivals across all schools and divisions within the association. There are 89 schools in the association.

I would like to bring to your attention the remarkable achievement of one of our Year 7 students, Fieke Potter. Fieke has been awarded All Stars across all three carnivals; Swimming, Cross Country and Athletics.

In ACC Swimming, Fieke was awarded All Stars for being the best performer in breaststroke and she was also selected in the relay. In ACC Cross Country - out of the 362 runners in the 3km race - Fieke placed first with a time of 9:51.78. Then, for the trifecta, in Term Three’s ACC Athletics Fieke was selected in the All Stars Athletics Team for her 1500m and 800m races. She takes her wins in her stride, and if you have met Fieke, you could not meet a humbler human being.

This talent runs in the family as Year 10 Anouk Potter has also been selected in the All Stars Swimming Team where she smashed a 29-year-old ACC record in the 50m freestyle, becoming the fastest U/16 female freestyler in ACC.

On behalf of the school, I would like to sincerely congratulate Fieke and her family on her outstanding athletic prowess.

Open Water Swimming

For the second year, St George’s will be entering the Secondary Schools’ Open Water Swimming event at Coogee Beach on the 22nd of November. This is a great opportunity to test your swimming abilities in the ocean. Thank you to those students who have already expressed their interest and a Consent to Go will come out next week.
