Dancing above the city

Our Mega Dance Company has taken their morning rehearsals to new heights, performing on the rooftop of our Perth CBD campus. Surrounded by the skyline, fresh breezes and sunshine, the dancers are working on a high-energy routine that blends cheering and dance styles. This new practice spot has brought an extra layer of excitement to the group, and we can’t wait for you to see them in action!

Year 11 Drama Practical Exams

Next week, on 6 November, our Year 11 Drama students will participate in their annual practical exams, a full-day event dedicated to showcasing their monologue performances. Held in the Drama room, the exams will provide each student with an opportunity to present their skills to an external examiner and our own Miss Watson.

Students have been given specific time slots and instructions on when they are required in class, ensuring minimal disruption to their regular schedule. We wish our students the best as they bring their performances to life on this important day, and we look forward to celebrating their hard work and preparation.

Year 11 APEx Dance

The Year 11 APEx Dance class is currently engaged in their final assessment of the year, where students take the lead in teaching style-specific techniques, dance phrases, and safe dance practices to their peers. Each lesson offers a unique exploration of dance genres, providing a dynamic and educational experience for everyone involved.

Here's what is lined up

  • Sophia Warren will guide the class through the fluidity and expressiveness of Lyrical dance.
  • Amelie McKeon will explore grounded movement and emotion in Modern Contemporary.
  • Lani Smith brings the energy of Commercial Jazz, focusing on rhythm and performance.
  • Mackenzie Marshall will present Neo-Classical Ballet, emphasising grace and controlled movement.
  • Abbey Min-Hsin shares the choreography and pop appeal of K-Pop.

With such a diverse range of styles, these lessons are a fantastic opportunity for students to deepen their understanding of dance and demonstrate their skills as both dancers and educators.

Thank you for your enthusiasm and support for our arts program – these events are shaping up to be unforgettable, and we’re thrilled to share them with you!
