Assistant Principal's Report - Julia Bay

Thank you for an enjoyable Term 2, the highlight for me has been the opportunities to celebrate our Doncaster PS students and community, in particular through our student led conferences, Grandparents' and Special Visitor's Day and the Doncaster Primary School Public Speaking Competition, which is always a wonderful whole school event.

Public Speaking Competition

Every student from Prep to Level 6 participated in our DPS Public Speaking Competition, an event that impresses me greatly every year with the calibre of the students' speeches, both content and delivery. Last Thursday evening, we had the pleasure of hosting our Level 5 and 6 competition and welcomed students' friends and families to enjoy the event. Every student who spoke did so with confidence and passion, and should be extremely proud of their efforts. I would like to congratulate our Level 5 winners, Nay and Jasmine, and our Level 6 winners, Elina and Giselle. Our Level 6s will now go on to compete at the the Rotary of Manningham Public Speech Contest at Doncaster Secondary College Performance Centre at 7pm on  Wednesday 15th July. We wish them all the best with this.

Grandparent's and Special Visitor's Day

On Friday 5th June we celebrated Grandparent's and Special Visitor's Day. It was lovely to welcome so many of our families into the school for our open classrooms and assembly. Students relished the opportunity to share their learning experiences with their visitors and listen to stories of different school experiences. Thank you to all our families who came along and contributed to the morning tea on the day.
