Principal's Report

Dear Parent and Friends of DPS,
Semester One has come to an end with lots to celebrate at DPS. Throughout the term, the Principal team have enjoyed visiting all classrooms and witnessing the incredible learning opportunities our students are engaged in. These learning experiences are crafted by an incredible team of teachers.
It has been so pleasing connecting with parents/ carers throughout the Term with Grandparents Day, Whole School Assembly, Level Parent Catch-ups providing great opportunities to celebrate our amazing students and their achievements.
Semester Reports were made available for parents on Friday and we trust that parents have had a chance to read about the wonderful progress their child(ren) is making. I'd like to acknowledge and thank all teachers for the amount of time in analysing students work samples to provide parents with your child's progression this Semester. The student-led conferences held Tuesday were well attended and we hope parents and children enjoyed the opportunity to talk about Semester One and set some meaningful goals for Semester Two.
In recent weeks we have focused on students lining up by the bell. As parents, you play a vital role in ensuring all children are at school when the music starts to play. You can encourage your child to go to the bathroom and get a drink of water before the music plays so your child is ready to begin their learning from 9am.
This Friday's Soccer dress up day is to acknowledge all students and their efforts this term with meeting School Wide Positive Behaviour expectations. As a special treat, the match between Australia and Paraguay will be made available to all students on Friday from 12pm.
I'd like to remind all families that Friday is an early dismissal at 2:15pm.
On behalf of all staff, I'd like to thank you for your support throughout this Term and wish you all a safe and happy holiday with your family.
We are looking forward to seeing everyone back on Monday 13 July.
Determination Pride Success
