Connect Crew

As we wrap up the first half of the year, our Connect students have spent the past fortnight reflecting on their achievements, reviewing the goals they set at the beginning of the year, and recognising the personal growth they have made.

Students engaged in meaningful discussions about resilience, change, and the progress they have made socially, emotionally, and personally. It was wonderful to see students acknowledge both their successes and the challenges they have overcome.

One of the highlights of the fortnight was our Mystery Box Challenge. Students were presented with a box of ingredients and, without a recipe, instructions, or any communication from the staff, had to work together to determine what they could create.

This activity encouraged students to think creatively, problem-solve, communicate effectively, and collaborate as a team.

The results were certainly varied! While some groups produced impressive dishes, others created meals that didn't quite turn out as expected. However, that was exactly the point.

The challenge reinforced that mistakes are an important part of learning and that perseverance, adaptability, and teamwork are often more valuable than the final product. Throughout the activity, students demonstrated resilience, leadership, critical thinking, and excellent communication skills as they supported one another to overcome unexpected challenges.

As another successful term comes to an end, we would like to thank all of our students and families for their ongoing support. We wish everyone a safe, happy, and restful break and look forward to welcoming everyone back next term for more exciting challenges, opportunities for growth, and memorable experiences in Connect.
