Home Group Kick Ball Comp
Middle Years
In Week 8, our Year 7 and 8 students brought plenty of energy, enthusiasm, and competitive spirit to our first joint Middle School Home Group Kickball Competition for 2026. From Tue 9 June to Mon 15 June students from both year levels joined forces on the COLA to represent their Home Groups and battle it out with a game of Kickball to earn valuable points towards a much sought-after Pizza Lunch.
There were many ways students could earn points for their Home Group to be in contention for the pizza lunch. Teams earned one point for every student who participated, one point for every home run, and five points for every staff member they convinced to come along and support their team. Match wins were worth a huge ten points. Every game counted and every student mattered.
Students did a fantastic job encouraging their teachers to attend, creating a lively and supportive atmosphere throughout the week. Shout out to Nadia Tanner who came to support 7H. She even made a sign to cheer them on.

While everyone enjoyed the competitive side of the competition, winning was not what mattered. The comradery and connections s established by students throughout the competition, was the true focus. It was great to see our Year 7 and 8 students stepping up, working together, and supporting each other regardless of skill set. They cheered each other on and celebrated big moments, and it was a wonderful reminder of how much fun can be had when everyone gets involved.
To end the Homegroup Competition, students and staff were then treated to the much-anticipated Staff vs Student match. There were plenty of laughs, some impressive plays, and a lot of friendly banter. In the end, the staff showed they still had plenty of kickball skills, securing a comfortable victory and claiming well deserved bragging rights!
A huge congratulations to every student who participated and represented their Home Group with pride. A special shout-out goes to our winning Home Group 7/8S who were victorious as the winner of our Homegroup Competition.

Thank you to all the students and staff who made the competition such a fun and memorable event.
