Middle School Celebrations

Years 7 & 8

Year 7 students have settled into Wantirna College very well in first semester, and have made connections with their peers, teachers and the wider school community!

The cohort have found some of the transition from primary school to high school a little challenging but have begun to thrive in Term 2. With that being said, Year 7’s have learnt to successfully navigate the school and get from class to class,  become much more confident with using our lockers and have been active in other extra-curricular activities.

This semester, they participated in Year 7 Camp, the iCan Challenge, Swimming Carnival, Cross Country, and KIOSC excursions, and have participated in homegroup competitions - so many new experiences and opportunities to form new connections with others.

At our recent assembly, we celebrated many successes that our Year 7’s have achieved.

Year 8

As Semester 1 comes to an end, we wanted to celebrate what's been happening with the Year 8s. One definite stand-out was Challenge Week in Term one, where the Year 8s participated in a range of actives from Belgrave Treetops to Laser Tag. The year 8’s have been involved heavily in the iCan challenge, Swimming Carnival, Interschool Sports and Cross Country. The Becoming Me program was also a great hit where students learnt about identify, agency and voice.

Year 8’s also had an assembly to celebrate their successes. During this assembly we also farewelled Ms McMahon as she moves into her new role as Acting Leader of Maths and welcomed Ms Nguyen who will be Acting Year 8 Year Level Leader for the rest of 2026, working with Mr Wakeham.
