Homegroup  Report

Jennifer Patton

It has been an exciting Term 3 in Home Group!

Last week, some of our Junior School students had the opportunity to present their Legacy Projects to their Year Levels and representatives from our leadership team. Our Year 7 students focused on addressing a school-level issue, while Year 8 students explored issues within their community and Year 9 students considered broader national issues.

It has been fantastic to see students really digging into their projects, developing their ideas and presenting them to their classes, before ultimately voting on which project would progress to the ‘finals’ at assembly. Students were genuinely supportive and encouraging of one another throughout the process.

Congratulations to our winning projects:

  • Year 9 – Minimising AI in Schools (9B)

  • Year 8 – Toy Drive (8B)

  • Year 7 – Opening the Year 7 Centre during break times (7D)

We look forward to seeing the continued work on these projects as students take the next steps towards making their ideas a reality.

Our Senior School students have continued to work through a curriculum designed to support them on their journeys beyond school. Year 11-12 students have been exploring topics voted for by the cohort, including practical life skills such as applying for a rental property and completing a tax return. It has been great to see student voice helping to shape the Home Group curriculum and ensuring that students are developing skills they see as relevant to their futures.

A positive conclusion to Term 3!
