English Department Report
Paul Kelly
Over the term, our students in English have been creating some very exciting work.
Most recently, our Year 7 students have been working on speeches and persuasive letters.
Our Year 8s have been doing the same, but are moving forward into a unit around the film Edward Scissorhands.
In the Year 9 classrooms, students will soon be beginning a unit on Jojo Rabbit, after finishing their own persuasive speeches.
Our mainstream Year 10 students are currently studying the film Bran Nue Dae, while our VCE VM students are assisting in the planning and implementation of events here at school.
Our Year 11 VCE English students are wrapping up their studies of Hitchcock's Rear Window, while our Language students have recently completed an essay detailing the history of the English language.
Our VCE VM students are continuing their work on the practical application of their literacy skills in a variety of contexts.
In our Year 12 classes, our English students have had their next SAC delayed until next Tuesday, the 15th of September, while our Language students have finished content and are now moving fully into exam practice.
It's an exciting and nerve-wracking time of year, so please continue to support your children, and we will do the same.
