Staff Formation is considered important in MSC schools for it emerges that when staff get the opportunities to learn about Heart Spirituality, they will be able to share this spirituality with the students. This strengthens relationships across the entire Monivae community.
The majority of staff formation undertaken at Monivae College takes place with the Chevalier Institute and is assisted by the Director of Faith and Mission at each of the Colleges. I was fortunate to recently spend some time in Sydney with Fiona Mulhall (Deputy Principal) at the Staff Formation Network meeting. This is a gathering of the Chevalier Institute and the Directors of Faith from the four MSC Colleges in Australia. These planning sessions help set direction of formation moving forward for all the schools.
Monivae ensures staff across all teaching levels and experience partake in formation opportunities, including a week-long experience at the spiritual home of the MSCs,
Douglas Park in NSW.
Last week Daniel Stevenson and Merriki Sambell participated in “Journey to the Heart”, a program designed as an introduction to Spirituality of the Heart.
Speaking of formation, our Year 7 students will get their first formal taste of our Heart Spirituality with the Year 7 Reflection Day to be held at Sterling Place, Dunkeld, on Wednesday June 12th. All Year 7 families should have received information regarding this day via PAM.
Monivae will celebrate our Sacred Heart Day on the last day of Term, but the actual Feast Day of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus is celebrated world-wide today, June 7th 2024.
The Sacred Heart of Jesus and the love that goes with it is an important celebration of all that is MSC. I wish our MSC family a happy Sacred Heart Day.
May the Sacred Heart of Jesus be everywhere loved.
