County Court Judge - Year 11 & 12 Legal Studies

Last week, the Year 11 & 12 Legal studies classes experienced goosebumps when a highly experienced County Court Judge appeared. I felt myself sit taller, as being in the presence of her was amazing. We were all stunned, like we were talking to someone with so much experience. The judge went through what the journey was to becoming a judge and her day-to-day role, revealing the insight and hard work it takes to get into a workforce like that. Through her talk, we learned that she sometimes specializes in complex cases, like sexual offense cases; however, at the end, she reflected that her work is very rewarding and meaningful, due to the importance of her role in sentencing these offenders. We were fortunate to ask her questions, getting her view on what cases she heard. A huge thankyou to Ms Neeson for organizing this talk, we are all very grateful for the opportunity!
