Dear Parents and Guardians

Ā

As we wrap up another busy term, I want to take a moment to reflect on the incredible experiences our boys have had.

Ā

This term has been bustling with winter sports and we are thrilled to share that several boys have achieved wonderful results in school-based competitions. In particular, I would like to congratulate Year 9 students Hugh, Maxton and Lyndon, who were part of the winning Eagles Cup team that defeated Comet Bay High School. Lyndon kicked the winning goal, Maxton won the Player of the Season Award and Hugh was brilliant in defence. It was the College’s first victory in the competition in 25 years, with the last win coming in 2001. The enthusiasm and dedication displayed by our students have truly been commendable.

Ā

In addition to sports, our boys have enjoyed a range of enriching incursions and excursions. A highlight was the Vinnies Sleepout, where some of our Year 12s demonstrated their commitment to social responsibility. The Year 9 Pilgrimages to Fremantle provided a meaningful opportunity for reflection and growth, while the Outdoor Education Camps offered adventure and camaraderie.

Ā

We also celebrated our Mothers and Mentors Evening for the Year 10s, which was a heartwarming occasion filled with connection and support. Parent events for Years 7 and 8 also fostered community spirit and engagement, helping to strengthen the bonds between families, the school and the boys with their parents. The Year 7s were also busily engaged with their Ancient Worlds exhibit, producing some excellent displays.

Ā

This week, we say goodbye to three dedicated staff members: Wendy Orr, Sharon Palmer and Josh Hegarty. Their commitment to the boarders has been greatly appreciated and we wish them all the best in their future endeavours. We know they will be missed. Looking ahead, we are excited to introduce new staff members next term who will bring fresh perspectives and energy to our Cebula community.

Ā

Thank you for your continued support. I wish you all a restful break with your sons. I encourage the boys to relax, enjoy some time out at home and take time to reflect on the semester. They will all receive boarding reports in the coming days and I hope that, for some, the holidays will allow for a reset and a renewed focus on both the Boarding Code of Conduct and the Cebula values.

Ā

I look forward to welcoming everyone back for an exciting new term on Monday, 20 July from 3:00pm.
