Year 11 Biology Camp

Exploring Ecology at Dryandra Woodlands
Last week, the Year 11 Biology students attended the annual Biology Camp at Dryandra Woodlands. Over two cold and wet days, the students participated in animal tracking and trapping, bush walks, a wetland visit and a visit to Barna Mia Nocturnal Sanctuary.
All activities were run by members of the Narrogin branch of the Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions. The opportunity to participate in these activities in one of the Wheatbelt’s most important reserves, alongside DBCA biologists, was a fantastic experience.
Despite Dryandra Woodlands having the country’s largest remaining population of numbats, we unfortunately did not see any this year. However, we did see plenty of possums, woylies and quenda.
Thank you to the students for their excellent participation and behaviour, as well as to Mr Sam Massey, who assisted with the running of the camp.
