JUNIOR SCHOOL | Update

Dear Years 7 and 8 Parents/Carers and Students
Welcome back to Term 4! I hope our Year 7 and 8 students and their families enjoyed a restful break and are ready for the final term of the school year.
At Frankston High School, our vision is to be a collaborative community where everyone is supported and challenged to achieve their full potential. Our pillars of Excellence, Community and Aspiration, together with our values of Respect, Responsibility, Resilience and Empathy, guide everything we do.
As we approach the end of the year, I encourage students to continue taking pride in their learning, embracing new opportunities and demonstrating our school values in their daily interactions.
Building a Safe and Inclusive Community
It has been great to see students return to school and reconnect with their peers. Our recent year-level assemblies provided an opportunity to reinforce expectations and remind students of their role in creating a positive school culture.
Our Year 8 students have also participated in follow-up sessions with the Pat Cronin Foundation, reinforcing the importance of respect, positive decision-making, personal responsibility, and understanding the consequences of violence. These messages are central to our commitment to ensuring every student feels safe, respected, and a sense of belonging at school.
We are proud of the diversity within our school community and value the different cultures, faiths, identities and experiences of our students and families. Racism, antisemitism, homophobia, sexism, misogyny, discrimination and all forms of prejudice have no place at Frankston High School. Every student deserves to feel safe, welcome, and supported.
Through our school values, Respectful Relationships education and wellbeing programs, we teach students the importance of inclusion, fairness and challenging prejudice. Families can reinforce these messages at home by encouraging their children to:
- Respect differences and value the diversity within our community.
- Treat others with dignity and fairness.
- Recognise and challenge discriminatory language and behaviours.
- Take responsibility for their actions and seek help from a trusted adult when needed.
We also expect all adults in our community to model these values in their interactions with students, staff, and families. By working together, we can foster a culture of respect, empathy, and inclusion where every student has the opportunity to thrive.
Looking Ahead: End-of-Year Activities
There are many opportunities for our Year 7 and 8 students to celebrate their achievements and strengthen friendships as we approach the end of the year.
On Friday 11 December, Year 7 students will visit Gumbuya World and Year 8 students will attend Luna Park.
Families are encouraged to check Compass for event details, payment information and consent requirements. Please ensure payments and consent are completed by the specified due dates.
Working Together
Strong partnerships between home and school are essential to supporting students' learning, wellbeing, and engagement. If you have any questions or concerns about your child's learning, friendships, transition or wellbeing, please contact the relevant Year Level Coordinator. Our Junior School team is here to work in partnership with families to ensure students feel supported and connected.
As we begin our final term, I encourage all students to make the most of the opportunities ahead, continue striving for excellence, and finish the year positively. Thank you to our families for your ongoing support and partnership. I look forward to celebrating our students' growth and achievements throughout the term.
